Only at Electrical Section Office concerned with surcharge.

Yes, to the same section office.
New connection...
Application form for electric connection is available in the section offices and "Friends" counter on payment of Rs.25/-. Application can also be downloaded from the website, in which case, the application fee has to be remitted in the section office while submitting application for new connection. The duly filled application along with completion certificate, duly signed by the licensed wireman, Supervisor and contractor is to be submitted to the Assistant Engineer. Service connection estimate will be prepared and intimation given to remit cash deposit and applicable service connection charges. On remitting cash deposit and service connection charges if any, consumer number will be allotted. If you require connection under OYEC category, OYEC charges also has to be remitted simultaneously.
Electricity duty...
All L.T consumers are required to pay Electricity Duty.
Tariff discount...
Yes, for consumers with connected Load less than 500W and having monthly consumption less than 20units are exempted from paying of electricity charges. Similarly, if the consumer remits 6 months or 12 months electricity charge in advance will be allowed with a rebate on energy charges fixed by the Board from time to time. Prevailing rates are respectively 2% for 6 months and 4% for 12 months.
Tariff discount for senior citizens...
No.
Fee for new connection application...
Prevailing rates are Rs. 25/- for Application Booklet and Rs. 50/- as application fee. Cash deposit and Service connection charges depending on the connected load will have to be paid.
Waiting for new connection...
The waiting time may vary according to the nature of connection. Service will be effected in the fastest stream and priority will be given if OYEC (Own Your Electrical Connection) scheme is selected by the consumer. For this you have to give a request and remit the amount as instructed by the Assistant Engineer.

Transfer of ownership...
Request with the following documents.
a. Application Booklet dully filled up.
b. Copy of original sale deed.
c. Ownership certificate of the premises/ building, obtained from the local body.
d. New Agreement in the prescribed form in stamp paper worth Rs. 50/-.

Installation of new motor...
Yes. Apply with new Completion certificate from licensed wiring contractor and certified by Competent supervisor for incorporating the additional load.
Maximum load...
Single phase connection up to 5000W, above that Three phase.
License to electricians...
No. Kerala State Electricity Licensing Board is the authority for granting licenses for Electricians / Wireman.
Duration of temporary connection...
One month, can be extended for one month at a time.
Charges for permanent connection...
Rs. 25/- for Booklet fee and Rs. 50/- as application fee. Cash deposit and Service connection charges & OYEC charges if separate priority is required. Processing fee is payable for Power Allocation.
Rights of way for laying electric connection...
Produce consent letter from the owner/owners of the property to be crossed. Also an agreement in prescribed format in stamp paper worth Rs.50/- is to be executed.
Safeguarding rights of way...
As per the Indian Telegraph Act 1988, KSEB is empowered to draw Electric line through the most feasible route. You are free to object the rights of way through your property by lodging a complaint to the Assistant Engineer concerned. Disputes in this regard will be settled by the District Collector.

Installation of transformers...
As per the Indian Telegraph Act 1988 and Indian Electricity Act 2003 Board is empowered. However, if you feel it is dangerous to your life and property you can lodge a complaint before the Asst. Engineer.
Compensation for passage of electric lines...
Compensation will be given if eligible according to the nature of loss for cutting of trees.
Subsidy for agricultural purpose...
Request may be given to the Agricultural Department.
Power connection for other purposes...
Power can be used if the connected load for the other purpose is less than 20% of the total connected load and is used by the occupier.
